![]() If I hold my feet in a natural position, it puts them too close together so that if I put my feet together in-game, one goes through the other. Also, I can't see my feet when I'm doing the T poise. Go over to the mirror to see how it's working.Ī couple of tips - when you put on the feet trackers, don't have them pointing straight up - that will make your feet pigeon toed. In this position, click your triggers to set your full body tracking. If you can't see the white balls at your feet, don't worry about it. Once in VRChat, hold your arms out in a T poise and look down and try to match your feet with the white balls. Now start VRChat from within the Steam home (if you're not seeing the Steam Home, one of the Steam menu options that you get by pressing the left Oculus button will let you see and select your games). If you're still in space calibration or go back into it, you should see all three trackers in the right places. Now bend down, rest your controllers on the floor, turn on both of the feet trackers (you can peek through the nose hole to see that they turn green), and strap the hip tracker on. IMPORTANT! From this point on, do not take off the headset or let it go into sleep mode. I like to do a few passes close to the floor. Wave the right controller with the tracker around in figure eights until calibration is complete. Use the left controller to select the space calibration tool from the Steam menu.Īs per the YouTube video, select the right controller on the right and the single available tracker on the left. Hold the hip tracker and the right controller together in one hand as close as possible. Now, pressing the left Oculus button should pull up the Steam menu (even if you're not seeing Steam Home). Turn on the hip tracker - it should show up in the SteamVR display on your monitor. You should go to the Steam home in the headset. Start SteamVR (at the left bottom of the Virtual Desktop menu) With Virtual Desktop running, the left Oculus button should display the Virtual Desktop menu It sounds complicated, but once you get it down it's very fast and easy:Īttach the Vive trackers to your feet, but leave them offįire up the Quest, Run Virtual Desktop, and connect to your PC Īfter that, here's what I do each time I want to use full body tracking in VRChat. Here's a good YouTube video on setting up the Vive lighthouses and trackers, updating the firmware if necessary, getting the space calibration software, and paring the trackers with steam (which you only have to do once). You have to redo the calibration each time you start a VR session, which is actually easy. Finally I found the trick and it's this: once you set up calibration with the space calibration took, you can't take the headset off or let it go into sleep mode. I had tried to get full body tracking working on the Quest 2 running VRChat wirelessly but could never succeed. I have the set of three Vive trackers and version 1 base stations (from my original Vive).
